    Skylights can be installed anytime.  We do most of our work from inside the house and save cutting the hole in your roof until the very end.  When it comes to a replacement opposed to an installation, we suggest that whenever the home owner plans to get a new roof put on their home, it is wise to coincide replacing any old skylights during that time.  We regularly work alongside various roofing companies whilst they do their thing, we do ours.  Not having to pull up any shingles is ideal for any job. 

    On average, an installation from start to finish takes about 2-3 days. There are many factors that must be considered throughout the course of a job, including type of ceiling, where the skylight is being placed and the size of the skylight. 

    If properly installed and flashed, there is no reason a skylight should leak. If moisture is visible 

    A skylight is similar to a window installed in a roof or ceiling to allow natural light and/or ventilation into the space below. They can be fixed (non-opening) or operable (venting).

    In most Bay Area cities, yes, permits are typically required for structural roof work. G.T. Builders handles any permits and business licenses that may be required by a city during the course of an installation.
